Hey everyone! It’s been a little while, but here is my March & April Wrap Up, for both books and music.
I work in a bookshop, and sometimes when it’s really quiet on the tills I will read one of the books on display near the till. A couple of weeks ago there was a really nice display of children’s picture books selected for their artwork, so I read three of them (Tad, The Book Without A Story, and Gaspard the Fox)! I ended up giving them all 4 stars.
I also started reading some manga these past couple of months and I’m very much enjoying it! I started the Black Butler series (which I have yet to continue, but really want to) and read the entirety of the WISH series (Vol 1-4 in omnibus form) as well as the 2-volume Sp Baby series. All of them were good, but my favourite was definitely Black Butler which I gave 4 stars. The other books all got 3 stars.
Aside from picture books and manga, I also read one comic (Saga Vol 3), one graphic novel (Haphaven), and two novels (After Dark, and Perfume). I loved both of the novels and gave them 5 stars, whereas the comic and graphic novel both received 3 stars. I have a review for Haphaven if you want to check that out!
I have decided after much consideration (a total of about five minutes) to combine my music wrap ups as they’re a lot of work and I am incredibly busy. Anyway, here are my top 3 albums/singles of the month (just April)!
Taylor Swift proved once again that she is one of the most iconic pop singers today (and that her music videos are much better than most US artists), with her fun and incredibly catchy single ME!. As for other singles which stood out to me this month, RAVI (VIXX) and Eunha (GFRIEND) collaborated for a Pepsi add, releasing the GROOVYROOM produced track BLOSSOM and I am in love with it. Reviews for both singles are forthcoming.
Loads of great albums were released this month, my favourites being Jumpin’ by Korean R&B artist SURAN, as well as the new albums from two of the most popular K-Pop groups: BTS’ MAP OF THE SOUL: PERSONA and TWICE’s FANCY YOU. All three albums have excellent title tracks and a plethora of incredible b-sides to feast on. Reviews for all three will be coming shortly as well.
Finally, a honourable mention for one of my fave songs this month (that wasn’t released this month): Matt Fishel’s Radio-Friendly Pop Song (2013) is a powerful and catchy song. I can’t believe it took me so long to discover it!

P.S. If you like K-dramas (or crime dramas), I highly recommend He is Psychometric. It just finished airing and is one of the best shows I’ve ever watched.
