Summer is almost here! (Not looking forward to the heat, but I am looking forward to it being light later.) I finally finished mock exams, so now I have loads of IAs (read: coursework) to do, but it’s still less pressure so hopefully I’ll be reading a bit more this month. Without further ado, here are the books I will (hopefully) be reading, and the music releases I am anticipating!Continue reading JUNE TBR
Hello everyone! May has just ended as I am writing this and the heat definitely signals an approaching summer. I had mock exams this week, so not much reading happened, but here is a breakdown of what I’ve been reading and listening to this month!
Mangas made up half of everything I read this month (largely because I had exams and anything more taxing was just not going to happen). For some I keep starting new series instead of continuing other ones, but oh well.Continue reading MAY 2019 WRAP UP
On Friday we welcomed 5-member boy group A.C.E‘s second mini album into the world. The album saw them take yet another change in style with their rap rock based title track, whilst maintaining a certain familiar quality throughout the rest of the mini album and the visuals of the music video.Continue reading A.C.E’s ‘UNDER COVER’ Album Review
Hello everyone! I actually did this post about a year ago on my old blog, but I decided to do an updated version for my new blog. So, if you’re interested in finding out more about A.C.E, have never heard of them before, or love them as much as I do, settle down, and let’s go!
A.C.E is a 5 member boy group from the company Beat Interactive. Beat Interactive is a small company, and A.C.E is their first, and so far only, artist. Unlike lots of Korean music companies, Beat gets a lot of love from A.C.E’s fans (Choice), who often call the CEO “Queen”.
In addition to their music, A.C.E can be admired for their charitable spirit, holding charity concerts and donating regularly despite coming from a very small company and not having much money. Their CEO also encourages their education; the members go to Uni and regularly read books about feminism. They debuted on the 23rd of May 2017, after gaining fans through busking and covers of popular artists such as BTS, BLACKPINK, and John Legend.Continue reading INTRODUCING: A.C.E
Okay, so the title is a bit of a misnomer. It would be better to call this the “asian-language edition” but that sounds kind of funny and seeing as the majority of the list does happen to be K-Pop I just went with that instead, but any songs in a Asian language are eligible for inclusion on this list. In any case, the following is a collection of my 30 favourite songs so far this year. It changes a lot, but this is how I rank them at the moment (let’s be honest, it will probably change the day after I post this but whatever).
Because this is just a quarterly update I’ve only quoted my favourite lyrics from each as opposed to giving a little spiel about why I like the song. In my end of year one I’ll give a bit more detail 🙂 Enjoy!Continue reading TOP 30 SONGS 2019 JAN-APRIL: K-POP EDITION
